The Heart Behind the Words

I've spent over 30 years behind the pulpit, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that God's Word never gets old. It is just as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago. I'm a pastor, college professor, and the author of five books that all circle back to one thing: helping people see the God who loves them.

I hold a Doctorate in Education and an MFA in Creative Writing, which is a fancy way of saying I love to learn, and I love to tell stories. Most days, you'll find me teaching, writing, or recording Lift Up Your Day, a daily 5-minute devotional, short stories with a biblical heartbeat, inspired by the late, great Paul Harvey.

When I'm not doing any of that, I'm home with my bride of 42 years, keeping up with our four sons, spoiling two grandsons, and getting ready for number three.

I'm glad you're here.
