God Is Watching Over You
God is watching over you.
You know that feeling when you walk into a crowded room and realize nobody noticed? When you post something online, and it gets zero likes? When you work hard all week, and nobody says “good job”?
Here’s what you need to know: Somebody’s watching. And not just watching—He’s leaning forward in His seat.
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9, NKJV).
Read that again. God isn’t casually glancing our direction. He’s searching. The Hebrew word here paints a picture of someone eagerly roaming about, looking with intensity. Like a parent scanning the playground for their child. Like a coach watching for the moment to send in help.
And what’s He looking for? Not perfection. Not a flawless track record. He’s looking for a loyal heart.
The Heart God Searches For
Let me introduce you to King Asa. This guy led Judah for 41 years, and the Bible gives him a stellar review: he “did what was right in the eyes of the LORD” (1 Kings 15:11). But here’s the beautiful part—Asa wasn’t perfect. He made mistakes. Had some royal blunders. Yet God saw something deeper: a heart turned toward Him.
Charles Spurgeon nailed it: “God does not look at the oratory of your prayers, how elegant they may be; nor at the geometry of your prayers, how long they may be… but the sincerity of them is what He looks at.”
It’s about the heart. Always has been.
The Hebrew word for “heart” (lēbāb) means more than feelings. It’s your control center—your thoughts, choices, emotions, character. Everything. When God searches for a loyal heart, He’s looking for someone whose inner world points toward Him.
Not someone who has it all figured out.
Not someone who never stumbles.
Just someone whose heart says, “God, I’m Yours.”
You’re in His Sights
A.T. Robertson observed: “This is not the picture of a distant deity, but of an engaged Father who delights in demonstrating His strength on behalf of His children.”
Read that slowly. God delights in showing up for you. He’s not reluctantly obligated. He’s not barely paying attention. He’s actively searching the earth for opportunities to display His power in your life.
So the next time you feel invisible in that crowded room, remember this: God’s got a front-row seat, and you’ve never left His sight. The question isn’t whether He’s watching. It’s whether your heart is turned toward the One who’s been watching all along.
Keep Looking Up!
Heaven is closer than you think.
May God bless your day.
