Where Heaven Came Down: Week of May 30, 2026
Friend, heaven is moving. You may not see it on the evening news, but the Spirit of God is right now changing lives on six continents. Take five minutes with me and look up.
Somewhere along a border near Iran this week, more than 200 men and women stepped down into water and stood back up with a new name.
Most of them were young. Most came to Christ through a dream, a neighbor’s whisper, a verse they were not supposed to be reading. There was no platform. No livestream. No worship band. Just hungry hearts, a borrowed body of water, and a Savior worth dying for.
That is what heaven coming down looks like in 2026. And it is not just Iran.
Friend, while you and I were folding laundry and answering email this week, God was moving across the planet. Lives are still changing. The gospel is still spreading. Heaven is still falling on hungry hearts. And the same God who is moving in Tehran wants to move in your Sunday morning service tomorrow. He is not finished. He is not far away. He is not running out of glory.
Pour your coffee. Let’s lift our eyes.
Iran: A Church That No Prison Can Hold
In a country with no legal church buildings, the gospel is spreading like fire in dry grass. Ministries working with Iranians report that more than 200 Iranians and Afghans were baptized this season just beyond the border, most of them young people hungry for truth.
Many come to Christ through a dream. Many through a neighbor’s quiet witness. All of them at real cost. In 2025 alone, 254 Christians were arrested inside Iran.
But they keep coming. They keep believing. They keep being baptized.
This is what costly faith looks like, friend, and this is what unstoppable Jesus looks like. Pray this week for our family in Iran, that God would guard them, sustain them, and keep growing a Church no prison can hold.
The Last Languages: An Answered Prayer 1,500 Years in the Making
For the first time in history, the list of languages still needing Bible translation to begin has dropped below 1,000. About 7.3 billion people now have at least some Scripture in their own tongue.
Stop and let that sink in. Centuries of saints prayed toward this day. They prayed in the dark. They prayed in famine. They prayed across martyrdoms and shipwrecks. They went home to glory never seeing what we get to see.
We are living inside their answered prayer.
When Jesus taught us to pray “Thy kingdom come,” this is what He had in mind. Today the answer to that prayer is arriving by the hour, in tongues those saints never heard of, in places no missionary ever reached. God is keeping His promises.
The Generation Everyone Wrote Off Is Walking Home
You have probably heard a sermon or two about how the next generation is leaving the Church. The numbers said so. The thinkpieces said so. The data was bleak.
Then the data turned.
Researchers and pastors across the West are now reporting rising church attendance and Bible engagement, led in part by younger people. Campus revivals keep breaking out. Public faith stories keep surfacing in places that used to mock them. The very statisticians who tracked the decline are now writing about a turn they did not see coming.
The kids nobody expected are walking back through the door.
Friend, never count out a soul that the Spirit of God is drawing home. Some of the loudest prodigals are about to be the loudest preachers. Keep loving them. Keep praying for them. Keep the lights on.
The Whole World, in Numbers Heaven Has Already Counted
If we only counted heads in our own buildings, we might think the faith was fading. Then we look at the world.
The 2026 Status of Global Christianity report counts more than 2.6 billion Christians today, up from almost 2 billion in 2000. The number is projected to pass 3 billion before 2050. The faith is growing fastest in the Global South, in Africa and in Asia, where the gospel keeps finding new soil and new hearts.
The Church is alive. The Church is growing. The Church is winning.
Friend, Jesus said He would build His Church and the gates of hell would not prevail. That is not a hope. That is a headline. He is still building, and not one gate of hell has held.
And He Wants to Come Down in Your Church Too
Here is the part of the story most of us forget.
The same God who is moving across Iran is not far from your congregation. The same Spirit who is filling stadiums in Africa is not too busy to fill your sanctuary tomorrow. The same Jesus who is calling baptists out of dreams in Tehran is calling somebody on your prayer list right now.
Heaven is not running out. He has not used up His revival on other people.
He is asking the same questions He has always asked.
Who will pray? Who will believe? Who will get out of the way and let Him move?
Friend, you are reading this for a reason. Maybe you have been counting losses too long. Maybe your church feels small, your seat feels heavy, your prayers feel tired. Hear me: God is still on the move, and He has not skipped your town.
Walk into church tomorrow like a person who believes God is on the move. Because He is.
For Our Hearts This Week
Let’s bow our heads before we close this page.
Let’s thank God for 2.6 billion reasons to hope. For His Word reaching the last languages on earth. For the young finding their way home. For our family in Iran who would not trade their Jesus for our comfort.
Then walk into your sanctuary tomorrow and ask Him to do it again. To do it here. To do it through us.
Heaven comes down. Lift up your day.
I will see you next Saturday.
Keep Looking Up!
Pastor Rodney
